Well, not much time left before our new project - link-exchange network for "ZX Spectrum"-related websites - will be launched. And it already has the name:
"The SpecNet".
The test version of the site design is already completed. Please visit the site, and check it out, you might find some bugs out there - please let me know if you do! See you in Support Forum, I'm waiting for your comments and proposals. Click
HERE to enter the test zone.
P.S. The site includes English and Russian version.

It's...
Yes, another version of
ZX-Emul has been released, bringing the number out of the 'teens, and into the 20's. Still in beta, of coz, but there's a few nice additions and fixes...

Check out the
ZX DIY Hardware page and you'll find a recent update with details of a 10Mbit Ethernet adapter for the ZX. It's an interesting idea, tho' you do begin to wonder why it's there, as the site itself points out "there is no software to run on it yet!"
However, the update was partly in response to
this post about
Contiki, the tiny OS for tiny systems. Perhaps now there's more chance of a ZX port? Anyone?

Here's something which may hopefully increase interest in the Sprinter as a "next-gen" 8-bit machine. Over on
NedoPC there's a Sprinter SDK ... if you can find it. It's available for registered developers only it seems, and I haven't the time to go-a-searching.
In case you're wondering, that link is also the home of the Sprint emulator, among other things. And while I'm at it, I'll point out that there's new ZX and Sprinter-based
forums there too.

Yes, after a few problems with server-space (
ahem), the new
AY Riders album is online, ready for you to download. The album, titled "Do You Remember?", has the subtitle of "AY Riders Play World Hits", and among the 25 (!!) tracks you'll find some classic versions of tracks from around the demo-world... and Tatu (yum yum).
The ~80 minutes of music is in .mp3 format ready for you to download and burn onto a CD.
Note: Update - CARL/Micromusic has provided a remix of "30 Minut" by Tatu. It's a mix using the original, and the AY version. Check it out on the AY Riders site.

As the headline says, there's a new version of
Spectaculator available for download should you feel the urge. Considering the last time the site was updated (according to my records) version 4.1 was just being previewed, this is quite a big step-up. And the list of new features is quite impressive too.

The new version of this
graphic utility was released. This is mainly a bugfix, but new features are added too...

This is fairly off-topic, but I thought it may cause some amusement.
If you've ever checked out the
Stats link to the left, you'll see it's kinda... mediocre (sorry, but there you go). I wanted to know what traffic
raww.org was generating so I checked the
real stats. There's some interesting things in there, including what people have typed into search engines to find us. Be warned... some strong language (and rudeness) follows...

If you're at all like me, you'll be a huge fan of Your Sinclair. If so, you should really check out
YS - Rock'n'Roll Years, which has just had an update regarding the YS-RNRY TV Show. To be honest I'd not really noticed this before, but it looks like a TV Show of the website. Which should be... nice.
The update gives some detail of the visual format of the show, and how it's all going to work technically. It actually looks quite interesting, tho' there will no doubt be arguments over items that will be missing... "what, no Zolyx?"

Ooh here's one for the serious tech-head. Or for anyone considering writing an emulator from scratch (that includes me, but just for fun. Ahem). The latest update to the
Official Z80 Support Page is a presentation showing the internals of the Z80 CPU as block diagrams. It shows the active lines and micro-instructions during each T-State of instruction execution. But only for 4 asm instructions, and an INT request. The latter is most useful I think. But that's just me.
The presentation is available to download in
Powerpoint format, natch!
