Konichiwa. Portal SCENE.ORG has now opened for voting his sub-site: here - however You should register first, which might be annoying.
You can choose Triebkraft&4th Dimension's AEON as THE BEST DEMO of 2008 (on the list mentioned as "Triebkraft: Aeon") which seems to be the most resonable choice...
Note: Actually, I've just spotted an email from evilpaul mentioning that there's a bundle of ZX-related stuff to vote for in the public choice category, including "Pimp My Spectrum" by Ate-Bit and Inward's "Give Me Future Or Give Me Death". [icabod]

My attention to... stuff at the moment is a bit minimal, as you can probably tell with the whole "news" thing. But things move on, and sure enough raww.orgy 2009 is only 7 days away. I popped down to Exeter this afternoon for a look around the partyplace (unlike previous events this won't be held at my house as I don't want to put undue stress on the youngling), and very nice it looks too. So far there haven't been (m)any compo entries, but there's usually a rush in the couple days before the party. I've no idea of attendance either, but three people a party makes, so if nothing else rc55, LaesQ and myself can go clubbing in Exeter, frightening the locals.
On the subject of parties, I've now had all of last years prizes returned to me! Yeah, it sucks, but I know what went wrong with sending them (and at least they came back, unlike one that got lost the previous year). I'll send them all again (to tiboh, riskej, and the '07 prize that got lost in the post to ch41ns4w) so apologies to those guys... they're worth the wait, honest. *cough*

If you browse over Velesoft's site from time to time, you've probably noticed his new hardware project. It's an external upgrade to 128K (or more). Suitable for those who want to expand their rubber or Plus to a Spectrum 128K compatible machine. Velesoft's expansion works well with 16K Spectrums, for 48K ones there's a need to disable upper 32K DRAM chips inside the computer. Of course, it's just a project so it can't be bought anywhere. Everything what hardware freaks need is here.

If you think beeper is not yet lost in the dust, you're right. For that cases there is a little news. Mister Beep has finished his new eight channel masterpiece as well as Factor6 made three new beeper songs. Mister Beep's new music is here. It's using a drumless routine but has drums, though! For listening to Factor6 songs go over his blog, readable for you thanks to Google translator.

Uhm, considering the last release of Fuse I reported on was back in August, I can safely consider myself slack for only now mentioning that the version number has been upped by a... major-ish number. The "9" has become a "10", with 0.10.0.1 being available. But you'll already know about the newness from elsewhere, so I'm really just bringing raww.org up to date. About bloody time, eh?
I'll try to post more catch-up news during the next few days.

Having completely failed to get my wonderful Crap Game submitted into the recent CSS Crap Game Compo 2008, perhaps I'll manage to find the spare minutes to complete it in time for the 2009 Compo deadline. The compo has opened, and already there are a good (bad?) selection of entries. But APUS will beat them all, oh yes, believe me. Maybe.

The latest version of the Open-Source ZX ROM Replacement has hit the internets, now under the name Open82 - it's also managed to find itself a new home on a lovely little site called Sourceforge. Work has been done in various areas including a working calculator from the ZX81 ROM, and ooh other stuff. Most importantly, the "borrowed" code is perfectly legal thanks to the hard work of one Andrew Owen. Groovesome.

Yes it's true, I've been a bit slack of late. I find that the time I used to spend posting news in the evening is now taken up with putting my son to bed. Well, I guess that takes a priority over most things, eh? It's hard to concentrate on scene stuff while there's an infant screaming that he desparately needs feeding.
Anyways, a tad late, but if you're interested I've writ up a quick raww.orgy 2009 infofile, which I'll cut-and-paste below the break. Not much new from the original announcement, apart from the fact that it's written in a textfile now :)

Just spotted that Digital Prawn left a comment on this post this morning mentioning that the 2008 edition of the CSS Crap Game Compo has finished. There were over 100 entries (without mine - I managed again to not complete my game for the third year running), with the results being announced next Saturday. Good stuff.

No, no ZX 48K beeper releases this time. FreshBEEP is Gasman's new web portal which should gather new game releases for the ZX Spectrum. It's highlighing all the new WoS game additions. As Gasman says on his blog: FreshBEEP is my answer to a pressing problem on the Spectrum scene: people are releasing new games all the time, but they’re being overlooked due to a lack of a prominent central place to announce them. So, go look there.
