A minor bugfix release of ESXDOS is now available. It basically fixes a small bug so now people who don't want to flash their DivIDE with ESXDOS can now try it in MAPRAM mode. This means that once the flasher has run, you can reset and use ESXDOS until the next power off. When you power on again, your old firmware will start up. Easy. Get it
here!

Just a quick pointer to downloads of ZX81 BASIC demo compo entries from JHCon 2009. They are on

The latest
Mister Beep's release is a nice music collection with eight 8channel beeper tracks made in ZX-7 editor. Since this editor has never had a compiler, this is the first demo in history containing this kind of music routine. So plug your MIC to the HiFi and enjoy. But before, get it
here first :)

Gasman and Yerzmyey have released a perfect
slideshow showing pictures in 53 colours from the IVP 2009 graphics compo. You might sit two miles away from the monitor to recognize the attribute resolution 32x24. Nice work!

Midibeep is Gasman's new converter of MIDI songs. But not for AY, as most people might assume. It converts MIDI to Sinclair Basic program, making a beeper music from it! It sounds awesome, as you can see (listen)
here.

This is not exactly ZX news, but one could say it's in close touch with ZX scene. Slovakian
Zeroteam released their first demo for Amstrad CPC range computers. It's called
CPCTro and has attracted attention of many CPC news portals like
this or
this one. Mikezt did the coding works and Factor6 the rest: music, picture, and charset design. The CPC scene likes us. So let's like the CPC scene.

The list of improvments is very big this time, so grab it while it is hot, from

[F6 note: As I don't have rights to add new articles from other users (hello icabod?), I can only see pending posts in the system. This one is written by LCD]

You've probably noticed
aeon by triebkraft&4th dimension in the pouet zx news list, which has won the 1st place at
TUM'08 lowend demo compo (congratz, guys!) last weekend. Now, for all the non TR-DOS users we bring you a little New Year gift. The
TAP version of the demo which should work on all 128K Spectrums (thanks to
Velesoft). Do download and try it. As a bonus for those with prehistoric browsers, you can watch it
online in a GIF animation.
[update] Finally, here is
fixed tap version of the demo which doesn't slow down on firm Spectrums 128 and +2. Thanks to diver^4d and Velesoft.
