If you've yet to have your full fix of
CAFe party info, head over to
POS where Himik's ZxZ has posted a gallery from the event.
Also if you're wanting to write an article about the party it seems that Black Cat is looking for reports for Promised Land 5. So get to writing!

As I'm a little behind with the news this week, I'm reverting to old form and cramming a bunch of news into the one post. But it's all related, with a whole bunch of new utilities being released in the last few days...

Hi kids. I apologise for the delay in bringing you the news you've surely already seen...
CAFe 2003 has finished. And the results and releases are already out, despite the party only finishing two days ago. That's what we like to see. Full details and downloads from the party held in Kazan can be found over on
Demotopia. In the meantime, here's a quick rundown of the top entries...

Well the
CAFe party should be happening around now, and already there's some related news.
Gas13 has mentioned that his work is complete for the compo, but we won't get to see it until after the weekend when the party finishes.
There's also some photos online already over at
POS - pre-party photos. I'm sure more will be coming soon.

If you're an avid AY-music listener (and you should be), you'll be interested to know that there's a new version of
AY-Emulator available for download. It's a "quick fix" of the older revision of the program, and makes a change to the PT3 player.

Another version is ready! Once again, keyboard shortcuts and bugfixes. This version will probably be the last, because I feel quite content with it and now I prefer to start coding in Z80 asm.
Get it from:

Announced on the
CAFe party homepage is the place where the event will be happening. It's... uhm... it's all in Russian, and as the English news page comes up blank, I have to rely on
Babel. So... the party will be held in g.Kazan', KDK of im.Lenina, ul.Kopylova d.2- A. Yes. Hmm.
Anyway, the party is starting in a few days time, so if you've any questions, check with the organisers -- the numbers are on the page.

Very quick mention to this
auction on ebay (highlighted on the
WOS forums) where Manic Miner is being sold. Or rather... a link to it. Ehm, ignoring the legalities of it, I just find it quite amusing. If it's any help, a quick search on
google should save you a quid.

Yep, already planning ahead for July 2004, when the UK's first annual
Classic Gaming Expo will be taking place in London. The plan is to have an arcade-style atmosphere... or at least, it'll be a place where you can go and indulge in playing "classic" games. My only concern is that often when you go back and play the games of your youth, they turn out to be utter chod (not so with Rex, which still roxx).
Anyway, the expo looks quite good, maybe worth a trip to the UK for people across the water? Check out the site and decide for yourself. There's a possibility that Sir Clive himself will be there... just don't crowd him! Give the man some space!

If you're a TR-DOS user then you'll be interested to know about new versions of the popular TR-DOS file managers
Quick Commander and
Real Commander. Quick Commander is by
Optical Bros, while Real Commander is the product of
Real Soft (who've recently had a site redesign by the looks of it). Not sure what the changes are, so get 'em and try 'em.
Out of interest, and I mention this here as I saw the news on the OB site, Samara ZX site now has a
new home. Annoyingly, due to the way the news is written with Javascript, it's tricky for me to monitor. Hmph.
Note: If you're looking for the ZX Software Collection that used to be on the Realsoft site, check this link.
