Very quick note to mention that my email is currently fscked. This won't be affecting emails passing through the server as it's a client-side thing. I'm working on getting it fixed and trying to recover lost emails, but it may be worth re-sending email to me if I've not responded by the end of the weekend.

First up an apology for the lack of news at the moment. With one thing or another it's been tricky to find the time to post some news - yep, I know there are new versions of various emulators out, and various other scene news, but it's no easy to get details posted when the shit hits the fan at work, which it has quite a lot recently.
Also, I should let you know that I'm looking into upgrading the raww.net server to something a little more... powerful. If/when I get this arranged I'll be gradually moving the sites over to it, and if all goes well you shouldn't really notice, apart from occasional distruption to a few sites as they move. With this in mind, I won't be adding any new sites just yet (I know, there's someone already waiting for me to set up hosting). Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's hopefully all for the best. Hey, a newer faster server can't hurt, can it!?

For all your UK scene-party-thing needs, there's now a website available. Well OK, it may not cater to all your needs, but it's a start. Check out party.raww.org, where you can currently find the latest (that's v0.2) release of the information file. More updates will come soon.

A quick mention (as I'm in the middle of knocking up a "raww.org party"-page), that the email address for submissions to the ASCiI 2004 party has been changed. If you've previously sent your work to the milytia@ address, please repeat them to riskej(at)nm(dot)ru.

As I'm sure you're all aware by now (coz you've been checking the site, haven't you...) the Minigame competition votepack is now ready for download <vote-zx>. The pack contains all entries for all platforms <vote-zx>, and instructions on how to get the games running in a variety of emulators <vote-zx> - and hey, the download is tiny (well, they are all "minigames"). So go grab the pack and play the games before November 1st, then get yourself back to the Minigame site and <vote-zx>.

Yes, there's going to be a few days of "catch-up", due to me mainly being too lazy to post news. The first site update that springs to mind is the release of the latest version of Vortex Tracker II. v1.0b9 is a bug-fix/tweak release, tho' it's worth noting that there's a new optimised (for both size and speed) PT3-player for the ZX included in the package. Also, the default set-up for the sound is based on the Pentagon 128k, so you may wish to change that if you don't tend to use the clones.
Following on from this, Sergey has removed some obsolete software from the "Programmer" (and other) sections of his site, basically because the functionality is provided elsewhere.

As previously mentioned here, last Friday there was a UKScene pub meeting, held in a pub in London for sceners from in-and-around the UK to meet up and get beery. Well the event occurred with around 6 or so sceners turning up - hopefully the next event will have a better turn-out. For now you can check some photo's over on Slengpung, including a few of ZX-scener evilpaul.

Big thanks to Miguel of Cyberpunks Unity for providing a translation of the rules for the upcoming ASCiI 2004 demoparty. The party is taking place at the end of this month, in Izhevsk (hence the full party name of "Alternative Spectrum Compo in Izhevsk" - I never realised that's what ASCiI stood for, hehe). Read on for the cut-n-paste job of the rules...
Note: The email address to send your entries has changed - new email is listed below.

During a lull in my work (can you believe the software I'm working on at the moment takes about 50 minutes to compile!?) I thought I'd mention about the latest site being hosted on raww.net. Cyberpunks Unity's new site can be found @ cpu.raww.net - I've only just had a quick skim through, and it's a very nice looking site... well-designed in it's simplicity. There's a bunch of CPU productions available for download, and you can read the archives of Adventurer e-zine (I confess to not really checking out many e-zines, but some of the articles are certainly worth a read). And it's all in English and Russian, which tops up the marks.
There are plans for more website additions in the future... as soon as I get a chance to allocate more server space :]
