I noticed an announcement over on the
Millennium'1903 party-page that the date will be changing to... some time in September this year. That's as specific as it gets. The party will be taking place in Minsk, Belarus, and I'll be letting you know exactly when as soon as I find out.
Until then, if you're planning to go,
get registered.

There's been a number of Sprinter-related updates over at
Peters+ in the last few days (apologies, but I've been having a "relaxing" weekend). First up, tho' I'll mention a new build of
Sprint, the Sprinter emulator from
Shaos. I don't have details other that it's "Build May 24, 2003". Worth updating...

Just a short note here to mention that the
Paradigmus page can now be found hosted on
scene.org. I'm not sure if this is a move or a mirror, but the
old site still appears to be alive. Hmm.

Thanks to Matthew Wilson on CSS for unearthing a surprising piece of retro rhetoric - an academic paper entitled
The Many Lives of the Jetman: A Case Study in Video Game Analysis, appearing in a recent issue of
Intensities, the Journal of Cult Media.
The 10,000 word article is rather heavy going (especially for non-native English speakers, I suspect) but provides an insightful treatment of the games, the remakes and the Ultimate mystique... and doesn't get
too many of its facts wrong... ;-)

Woody (he of other-half-of-
Spin fame) has come up with a handy utility for Z80 hackers, named
AGen. It allows you to create and annotate disassemblies of code grabbed from snapshot files. No proper documentation at the moment, but the
original announcement in comp.sys.sinclair should start you off.

Jim Grimwood's Spot*On database, indexing material from the major Spectrum magazines, has had an update involving over 6000 new references. Among them are entries for more than 100 software titles not previously recorded.

The latest addition to
Demotopia is the complete collection of
Factor 6's music - over 200 tracks in total. Also new this time are a few tracks from
Johny-X and
MGSak.

After a long wait,
Subliminal Extacy Online is finally going to see the light of day. For all of you die hard SE fans, rest assured that SE Online will NOT be killing off the Speccy version of this great 'zine (unlike other diskmags I could mention ;). It's just a site to tide you over while you wait for the real deal.

Kinda beating me to it (hey, I'm slack, but I know where it's at),
Gas13 has started to produce t-shirts with his ZX designs emblazened on the front. There's some nice stuff there from his work, I especially like "Any Future?". Check them out and order yourself a piece of ZX-wear over at
Pixeltees.

As reported on the chiptune mecca,
Vorc Slash, a Russian composer, has released a collection of 33 ZX tunes created during the mid 90s. I've yet to download them myself, but the site describes them as "high energy style". Okay, so that's techno then? Perhaps. Only one way to find out. Grab 'em.
