According to a recent post on
Scenergy (the English page of which seems to have completely AWOL), demogroup
K3L are looking for new members, "especially coders". If you're interested you should contact one of the team, such as
relict who posted the news.
Incidentally, I don't see anything on the
homepage mentioning this, but it's not been updated for a while I think.

Way back in
February we posted the "official invitation" to the upcoming
Syndeecate 2003 party, being held in the Czech Republic. Well in case you're interested there's a PC invitation intro (invtro?) available for download. ZX and Amiga invtro's will
soon follow.

Thanks to Yerz for sending a link to another online poll of "which is the best machine". This time it's an aural poll, with the subject being "Which computer/console has the best music??" - The poll can be found on the
music section of
Syntax Error, the website of a Swedish radio program.
Quite an interesting
manifesto for the program... wonder if they play much
PT??
Incidentally, the current winner of the poll is the NES (30%) with the ZX coming in with only 3%. Cry Cry.

If you're into modding your ZX, then the latest couple updates over at the
ZX DIY Hardware page could be just your thing. They've about the ZXATASP, the IDE interface for the ZX. The ZXATASP v2.0 has both onboard RAM and a CompactFlash slot. It's a nice bit of kit. I'm just wondering... with all this talk of CompactFlash and SmartMedia readers, when will someone create a USB port to sit on the ZX? Direct fast serial connection to a PC, and addon peripherals such as media-readers. Hmm. It's a thought.

If you're keen on tracker tunes (and if you're reading this site, we can assume you are) then you should check out the latest update of the
Tr_Songs archive over on the AY-Emulator homepage. It's just been boosted to include the musics from the recent demo's, parties, 'zines, etc. It brings the total collection to over 9300 files! Now that's a lot of airtime. And this is
after around 300 duplicates were removed. Very nice.
While you're there you may want to grab the latest fixed version of the AY-Emulator Skin Manager. It's had a bit of a bugfix.

In case you've not already seen it (I'm not sure if I've mentioned it here before), the website for the upcoming
Millennium'1903 party is alive. It has been for over a month in fact. The party is taking place on 23
rd and 24
th of August this year, tho' I'm... not entirely certain where. Oh well. Ahem.

Yep, I'll bet some people thought that said "talks
to Sinclair". Sorry to disappoint you. But check out the latest edition of
RetroMart and you'll find some information on the good ol' ZX. First up is some detail on making your own platform games, followed by... making your own ZX. Or at least modding it. There's mention of the
DIY Hardware Page and of coz
Sintech (which has had a recent overhaul, I think).

Along with the Ascii results,
Demotopia has had a whole load of new additions over the last
two days, courtesy of
Dron and
Zoom, bringing the total number of Speccy scene productions listed on the site well above the 5000 mark.

Thanks to Yerzmyey for passing on the
releases from last weekend's Ascii'03 party, now available from Demotopia. Now we're just waiting for the results (and possibly the third-place demo?)

A bit late, but well worth a mention anyway.
Kriik #3: Inskene is the latest edition of the diskmag from Skrju, and there's plenty there to interest Russian-speakers and outsiders alike - including a look at the Speccy scene through the eyes of C64 sceners Hollowman and Britelite, and the customary scene charts.
