One of the Russians speccyman (
AAA), collects the zx-spectrum demos, intros and other scene stuff. He needs assistance, or rather information about some sceners, such as where they live (country, city). Some information has already been collected, but will be glad of any assistance!
[edit: I've actually removed the list of people and I'm going to point you to a thread on Pouet where there's an ongoing info-seek:
here]

There are many WWW sites dedicated to ZX Spectrum128K series.
However it is sad that Spectrum 48K seems to be forgotten. :( People sometimes even don't know that certain programs are made for ZX48K (like Sound-Tracker, Sample-Tracker, The Lyra II, Agony MegaDemo, Shock, and others).
It forced me to make a portal dedicated to ZX Spectrum 48K:
zxspectrum48.i-demo.pl

At the moment my news-houndishness is a little slack - due to other "stuff" I'm not actively seeking out news as normal, but posting stuff I "happen across". And I just happened across a news item on
Pouet (via
Bitfellas no doubt) about a new site-launch called "
8Bit Today", dedicated to the 8bit world (including the demoscene). Not much there at the moment, but when raww.org started it was fairly sparse.

The new PC Keyboard Interface is ready; come and get one!
Maybe you followed the progress on
www.benophetinternet.nl/hobby about the new PC Keyboard interface from Miguel (from Spain) and me.
The interface is ready and you can now get one if you want.
And maybe the best feature is that updates can be programmed by your own Spectrum!
Details are on the website.

Just a quick note that the
MB Maniax site is back, bringing fresh news and rumours from the Czech Speccy scene. In Czech language, naturally.

Quick post to say Happy (belated) Birthday to
Speccy Live, a quality news-site that turned one yesterday. Ah, one year old... so young, so impressionable. Long may the site continue. It's a great news source, so it is.

Thanks to Yerzmyey for pointing me to a link to
Monochrome (file hosted by
RWAP), a new downloadable PDF magazine for the ZX81. I've had a quick look through and it's a nice enough piece of work, covering games, a making-of, and the all-important "but how do I use these files on a real machine?". Worth a look, I would say. There's even a link in there to a server that's apparently running on a
ZX81. Coo.

Finally I've pulled my finger out and decided to post pictures from raww.orgy'08. You can find them
here.

I don't mention the SAM Coupe much here, despite it being a rather nice machine (I think I've only ever used two - a mates when I was very young, and Ellvis' machine at the last Forever). I guess it's partly down to the fact that I haven't created an icon for "SAM News". Ah well, I'll get back on track and point you to
SAMCoupe.com, where there's currently a sale on. No machines sadly, but you can save some money on back issues of Sam Revival (the next issue is out in a couple days, btw), and also on some hardware - Ethernet interfaces and the like. Good stuff.

A little late, but I see that NickH has released the 1989 chapter of his
documentary charting the history of the ZX Spectrum. As it came out nearly three weeks ago I won't bore you with the details as you've probably all seen it already. Worth adding to your collection, and awaiting the DVD release.
