Very (very) quick post with the results of Forever|neXt, which happened this weekend... after the cut. Releases will follow.

[Update by F6]: Download the releases here!

FOReVER neXT starts today in sunny Slovakia. Hooray! But I won't be there. Boo!
That's it really, just a pointer to keep an eye out for news from the party.

Just had an email from proud Daddy evilpaul pointing us all to the scene.org awards where three ZX-related items are in the lists. Triebkraft's "Aeon" is nominated for a Best Oldschool Platform prize, Ate-Bit have "Pimp My Spectrum" in the Best 64k and Original Concept categories, and Inward feature in the Best Animation category (tho' not for a ZX release).
Perhaps most impressively is Aeon being nominated in the Public Choice category. Good luck to all, eh?
Note: Just spotted that Yerzmyey also submitted this news, so thanks to him for that - in his words, ZX Spectrum Must Win!

I'm still slacking, but that doesn't mean I don't care about my favourite 8-bit party, Forever, the next event being only... 10 days away (actually I see it's 9 days - hmm). Recently the traditional "Create & Win" compo started up, which may well snag you free entry should your design skills be "leet" enough. I won't be at the party, but that's due to my son being Christened that weekend - so maybe I'll drink some Slovak beer anyway.
As you know, there are the usual ZX compos, so get working!

While we're talking about music, a very quick pointer to the latest Ubiktune release, a collection of AY music by Fatal Snipe titled "Fellowship". Grab.

Thanks to Yerzmyey for pointing us to the Bitfellas BitJam Podcast, where #53 is all AY-Riders music. Oh yes. The direct download is here, but the rest of the casts are worthy of your attention too.

One of the Russians speccyman (AAA), collects the zx-spectrum demos, intros and other scene stuff. He needs assistance, or rather information about some sceners, such as where they live (country, city). Some information has already been collected, but will be glad of any assistance!
[edit: I've actually removed the list of people and I'm going to point you to a thread on Pouet where there's an ongoing info-seek: here]

Spectrum of Terror is a chiptune hardcore-techno band by Yerzmyey (PL) and Moran (RU). Being silent the last few years, true. ("Silent" word considering hardcore-techno is kinda weird ;) ).
Anyway, German label Darkspell Records has published a new vinyl with hardcore/breakcore genre, including ZX Spectrum chiptune's appearance on the record.
The title of the compilation is: "Various - Kampfansage Projekt Hardcore", with serial number DSR005VINYL.

Well, the party is starting tomorrow - I think the attendance will be lower than previous years, due on part to the crappy weather we're having in the UK at the moment (we're just not used to snow). Competition entries are trickling in - not much in the AY-music compo so far surprisingly, tho' there are several screen$, and a nice selection of 256b Intros (which is probably my favourite comp). There's still some time to submit entries, so get to it... the deadline is tomorrow, but entries will be accepted until the actual competition takes place some time on Saturday - if you don't get a reply to your email (CC it to LaesQ) then we didn't get your entry.
I'll post updates (and some more contact details) on the party-page forum, so keep an eye on it.
And once the party is over I'll really try to get back to regular news-posting.
Note: ...and remember if you are coming to the party, it's in Exeter this year, not Yeovil! And besides which, if you did come to Yeovil, I live in a different house. Hehe.
