Uhm, I've just seen over on
Speccy Live that the official results of ASCiI'08 are up. I will confess to being lame and not getting my votes in on time - having a poorly son has kinda eaten up my time in the last few days so I only had chance to listen to about half of the music. I suck. That said, the general quality of the work has been high, and I will certainly reserve some time to listen to the rest of the music. Congrats the the winners. Hoorah!

Oi!
I added several news to
the site, for fans of Z80 chip's sound. Several fine classic songs, several not so good (but still worth to know) tunes.
No 'MusicBox-like' songs this time as ZX128+ can't handle them properly somehow, so I will use Timex 2048 for recording and let You know soon, guyz.

Seems odd to have a title saying that
raww.orgy 2009 is announced, when this is the actual announcement. The party-page is not yet updated, but following some discussion the party is set for the 6th to 8th of February 2009, when
raww.org will turn 9 years old. Some changes will be evident from the previous parties - it will be co-organised by LaesQ, rc55 (he of
Sundown fame) and myself. Rc55 will hopefully be providing a party-place down in Exeter, with chateau-'bod being a back-up plan. There will also likely be an "optional entrance fee" to help cover any costs... probably ten of your English pounds or something similar. Compos will be as with previous years (256b Intro, screen$, ay-music) unless we announce otherwise.
So. There you go. And you all thought that the onset of fatherhood would effectively cancel any future parties. Orgy On!

Video has been done from a hard disc using the DivIDE, and I wanted to see if it was possible using the Spectranet. And to my surprise, the Spectranet ROM routines were indeed fast enough! A demonstration of streaming video from a file kindly supplied by LCD at World of Spectrum can be viewed here -

If you own MB02+ with RTC chip you could find handy this little program. It's a binary clock. Uhm, which tells you time in binary system. If you know. It's written by Logout/MB-Maniax and finished after three long years of waiting. It's skinnbale (classic 6912b pics) and there is a couple of pre-drawn skins in the package. Look
there.

Thanks (and apologies to) Yerz for pointing out (and for me failing to act on) some new beeper works from Mister Beep and TDM. "
Insane Organist" is a 3-channel-like beeper song (that's to say it sounds like 3 channels, using only the single-channel beeper) from M-Beep and TDM. There's also the pure 48k demo "
1-Bit Attack", which in addition to the choons features some lovely pix-by-trixs.

Thanks to Factor6 for dropping me a note about the next
Shucon, which will be taking place from the 3rd to 12th of July 2009 in the Czech Republic. Entry fee is 2000czk, which is about 65 gbp, but that's for an entire week-long event. Coo.

Quick pointer to
Speccy Live where they've posted the votepack for the now-virtual
ASCiI 2008 party. Grab the stuff and vote away.

Just uploaded the new Retro-X Alpha 7 to my website (http://lcd-one.da.ru come and get it or wait until it was updated on WOS). There are many many many improvements, bugfixes and additions in this release, so it took more time than previous releases. There is still a lot to do, so the next version will still be Alpha, but I think, the last alpha version. The Beta versions start probably 2009.
And now read the list of improvements:
