Gasman and Yerzmyey have released a perfect
slideshow showing pictures in 53 colours from the IVP 2009 graphics compo. You might sit two miles away from the monitor to recognize the attribute resolution 32x24. Nice work!

If you need to convert a Speccy .scr picture to some PC gfx format and you don't have any binary tool, you can try online
scr2png converter written in PHP by Dusky aka UB880D.

Midibeep is Gasman's new converter of MIDI songs. But not for AY, as most people might assume. It converts MIDI to Sinclair Basic program, making a beeper music from it! It sounds awesome, as you can see (listen)
here.

In April I
wrote a news about
Sinclair Serial Interface. Its author, Pavel Urbancik, has finished development and some people got their piece of hardware, so did I. There is almost no software for it, but it can be controlled simply by AT commands, so it's easy to make a simple Basic terminal tool. At the moment I'm able to connect to an encrypted WiFi network, ping an IP adsress, load HTML code, etc. I hope someone will write an IRC/e-mail/Twitter client soon. Yesterday I received a message from Cygnus about his
SIFTRD which is a tool for making TRD images directly from Speccy on Linux PC with dd command using SIF and serial cable. Which could useful for TR-DOS users.

Lot of things happened since my last post at raww.org. Here are some of them...
Sinclair Club Plzen started its activity few months ago. It's situated in Plzen, Czech Republic and they have meetings every Tuesday. Last Friday there was an open day for everyone. Another club has been set in Bratislava, Slovakia. It's called
SinDiKat which means Sinclair a Didaktik - Klub Aktivych Technikov (Active Technics' Club). Photos of their last meeting are
here.

So, this weekend I have been at
Sundown 2009 in sunny Budleigh Salterton, where there were a handful of ZX Spectrum works, including compo-winners. Relevant results below the cut...

While I'm in "delegate the news to Speccy Live" mode, you can also take a trip over there for the results and stuff from
International Vodka Party 2009, which I regret to say I didn't even know was happening. Hmm, you'd think there should be some news site announcing this kind of thing *cough*.

Yes, late again, so I'm pointing you all to the wonderful
Speccy Live to grab your Chaos Constructions 2009 results and releases, as they're frankly doing a much better news-type job than I am at the moment.

So, by my calculation
Chaos Constructions 2009 is starting any minute now. A quick look at the site shows some photos of the set-up of the event - tables and chairs in a large room. Sounds ideal.
I'll be away from Sunday midday so I'll be missing the results announcement (what a terrible excuse) - I expect
Speccy-Live will be on-the-ball with news, so keep an eye on there.
