This is fairly off-topic, but I thought it may cause some amusement.
If you've ever checked out the
Stats link to the left, you'll see it's kinda... mediocre (sorry, but there you go). I wanted to know what traffic
raww.org was generating so I checked the
real stats. There's some interesting things in there, including what people have typed into search engines to find us. Be warned... some strong language (and rudeness) follows...

If you're at all like me, you'll be a huge fan of Your Sinclair. If so, you should really check out
YS - Rock'n'Roll Years, which has just had an update regarding the YS-RNRY TV Show. To be honest I'd not really noticed this before, but it looks like a TV Show of the website. Which should be... nice.
The update gives some detail of the visual format of the show, and how it's all going to work technically. It actually looks quite interesting, tho' there will no doubt be arguments over items that will be missing... "what, no Zolyx?"

Ooh here's one for the serious tech-head. Or for anyone considering writing an emulator from scratch (that includes me, but just for fun. Ahem). The latest update to the
Official Z80 Support Page is a presentation showing the internals of the Z80 CPU as block diagrams. It shows the active lines and micro-instructions during each T-State of instruction execution. But only for 4 asm instructions, and an INT request. The latter is most useful I think. But that's just me.
The presentation is available to download in
Powerpoint format, natch!

Hmm, would be better with "Portuguese" and "Sprinter" swapped around. Who wouldn't want to be in a club called SPUG?!
If you're somewhere near Portugal and happen to own (or be interested in) the
Sprinter then you should check out this
forum post, where Jorge Canelhas (of
Retro Review fame) has mentioned a possible user-group.
If you're interested then check it out.

If you head on over to the
ZXMak webpage you can pick yourself up the latest release of this emulator. v0.281b1 was actually released about 10 days ago, but you know what I'm like with keeping up-to-date. It's a Russian release (hopefully it will soon be followed by the English version, which is currently still on v0.280b2), and I simply don't know what's changed. Hey, it's been a long week.

On a
WOS forum post I saw mention of a new (?) emulator that the author would like people to try out/beta-test. There's just a
zipfile as far as I can see, with no obvious link from the parent site. Anyway, the name is "EmuZWin" and it's on v2.0 (hence the question mark after the "new"). It's still under development (aren't they all), but could be worth checking out.

There's been a few new FAQ updates over on the
Peters Plus site. There's a whole host of changes in the
Sprinter FAQ (according to
WSW it's things like how, what, and why you can order), and a new section in the
Coding FAQ all about the Accelerator.

Just a little note about newsfeeds. I see that gasman has added an
RSS newsfeed to
Demotopia - it allows you to get the news through various applications other than web browsers. Well it occurs to me that people may not realise you can do the same on
raww.org. Just point the reader at
this link. And if you use it, let me know if it works.

Well, the latest issue of
Retro Computer Mart is online, and it looks like the final of the "which 'puter roxx most" competition is between the ZX and the Amiga. I like both machines but I think it's obvious which I'd vote for. So check out
this link (thanks yerz) and vote ZX.

I noticed mention of
VCFe a couple days ago over on
old-computers.com, but it never really clicked that it could be news. Hey, I'm tired. It happens.
Anyway, this is the fourth of the European version of this festival, and it's being held in sunny (?) Munich, Germany on May 3rd and 4th. It's kinda a celebration of (as the title suggests) Vintage computers. The main theme for this year is "Home Computer Professional" so I guess there could be ZX appearances. I remember old ZX mags having many business adverts in them. Hmm.
