GP32: Handheld ZX gaming
Posted By: icabod, Monday, April 07, 2003 - 09:20 AM
Recently nintendo released the Gameboy Advance SP, which is basically a remodelled Gameboy Advance. My mate has one, and it's quite sweet. Looks like a tiny portable dvd-player, but with no space for a dvd.
But now there's a new machine on the market, the GP32, and frankly it looks bloody good. And whats' more, it can emulate the ZX!

Ok, so it's actually been out for ages (around a year), but I only just caught it mentioned on /. so thought it was worth pointing you to it. And yes, I know there's a ZX emulator for the GBA already [1][2]. But dammit, this machine looks nice.
There's a UK distributor selling it for £99, the same price as the GBAsp. Hmm. I may have to fork out for one of these. Yes.

| I've got one. It rocks. One of the best features (besides Speccy emulation and MP3s) is the fact that it's based on open standards (such as CompactFlash media instead of proprietary cartridges) and the manufacturers don't bend over backwards to stop amateur developers from making their own stuff on it. A real tinkerer's machine. |
