don't get me wrong, thats cool and everything and i think these utilities are great ... ( i like using bmp2scr for example and often do because its more time efficient but i'm still drawing my own pics on my own template on pc, so i need to be careful always, which can be a pain in the ass because its not like on a spectrum where it'll be obvious when you screw up like trying to use another color in a diffrent bright in a 8x8 square or something, but after the work is done i like bmp2scr just for converting the pic to a tap so i can load it on my spectrum, i never need to make any changes, just simply to make a tape - unless i have to fix the brightnesses because bmp2scr never gets that part right :) ... anyway ... )
... but when people run any old pic or photograph, especially when it's done by someone else, through a converter like that BUT say "look at what i did" is pretty dumb, i mean, if they they are trying to say they drew it themselves that is. if they did draw it themselves on a pc or something then i think it has some value, even for a competition, but i'd really like to see people actually drawing two seperate screens and doing gigascreen that way. that would be impressive, imo, for myself, that has the most value. like the one Yerz did, ??? ... oh yea, the Matrix ... i think that's really cool, and i like that better than most others. but even if some aren't that great at least they put the work into it. "always" using a utility to conert the pics is pretty lazy and taking the easy route. the hard way would involve some trial and error, knowing what colors to use to get the desired effect, etc, so obviously it is alot more work, but in the end you have a feeling of accomplishment that you don't get from always using a tool like that. anyway, the pics do look really great, nice job to the person who made it, congratulations! LCD's gigascreen converter is also great too ( but in still pics like that you don't see the flicker though ;-) ) okay, well i have a tendency to ramble but i'm through now :) best wishes |

Okay, I'll read the other comments about technology and "credits" in a minute. I'll also post a bunch more news a little later this evening (sorry for delay, i've been... well, doing other stuff. i even went outside).
But for the moment, i'd just like to comment that i think it's great that in a "feature" about a new zx technology, you managed to get images of nekkid manga chicks. Mad props to zoom!!! |
