ZX Castlevania in progress :: raww.org :: zx spectrum demoscene news

I didn't even know this project was in progress until I spotted it mentioned on Peek-n-Poke, the "retro" magazine. The project in question is aiming to re-write Castlevania on the ZX. Looks like it's going ok for the moment. Hmm.

i mentioned it first in my zx spectrum 2003 articles and on the forum there. that news is a bit of old news. but the developer told me that it is coming along, very recently. he says he could use some graphical help though, and definitely someone to convert the castlevania tunes. i happened to have been playing around and did a few castlevania sprites some time back, then i said since he's doing the game and happened to have some done already he was more than welcome to use mine if he wanted. "he says" he was surprised simon belmont managed to look so good but he says it would create too much of a problem with color clashing with the backgrounds, i only showed him the two similar ones he had of simon in black and white a while back. anyway, they wont go to waste, theyyll be part of my next update. it seems simon belmont will be monochrome ( how that makes color clash any less when the backgrounds are in color already is beyond me, bsides my version are black and white except i used some red in there, but thats what he said )

the curious can see simon in color HERE. I'm still really looking forward to it though.
