National Savings quizzed nearly 2,200 adults as part of a big survey on spending and saving. They say: "This year it's Sony's Playstation 2 which is like gold dust on the High Street. "Must-have Christmas presents are some of the quickest to go back into their boxes after the tree and decorations are down. "The presents which offer the best value aren't neccessarily the ones which kids constantly pester parents for during the run-up to Christmas."
